Your Moving Questions, Answered Straight

Real answers about pricing, timing, protection, and how we handle the unexpected — written for Newport Beach and surrounding Orange County moves.

What's the best time of year to move in Newport Beach?

Spring and fall are the most comfortable temperature-wise, but summer is our busiest season. If you book between May and August, try to schedule at least three weeks ahead. Winter moves often come with more flexible availability and slightly lower rates.

Do you charge extra for stairs or elevators?

No. Unlike some movers, we don’t tack on fees for stairs, elevator waiting time, or long hallways. The hourly rate you’re quoted is what you pay — no surprises at the end.

How do you handle moves during heavy rain or heat waves?

We monitor the forecast closely. In heavy rain, we use floor runners and extra plastic sheeting. During extreme heat, crews take more frequent hydration breaks to stay safe and focused. Your belongings stay protected either way.

Can you move my expensive art or wine collection?

Yes, with specialized handling. For high-value art, we use custom crating and air-ride suspension trucks. For wine collections, we can arrange temperature-controlled transport. Just give us a heads-up when you book so we plan accordingly.

What's your policy on items that won't fit through doorways?

We assess each piece before we start. Most standard sofas, mattresses, and tables will fit with proper angling. For oversized items like grand pianos or large gym equipment, we’ll measure doorways and windows in advance and provide a clear plan — including hoisting if necessary.

Do you provide same-day moving services?

Often yes, depending on crew availability. Call us by 9 AM and we’ll let you know if we can dispatch a team that afternoon. Last-minute moves are stressful, and we try to help when we can.

How do you protect hardwood floors and carpet?

We lay down heavy-duty floor runners at every entry point and high-traffic area. All furniture legs are wrapped or fitted with protective boots. Your floors won’t see a single scratch from our equipment.

What if my elevator isn't working on moving day?

If the building’s service elevator is broken or reserved, we reassess immediately. For low-rise buildings (3 floors or less), we can use stairs at no extra charge. For taller buildings, we’ll help you coordinate with building management to find a solution or reschedule without penalty.

Do you move items out of storage units?

Absolutely. We can pull items from any local storage facility — Public Storage, Extra Space, CubeSmart, or smaller independent places. Just send us the unit size and access details, and we’ll bring the right truck and dollies.

How far ahead should I schedule a long-distance move from Newport Beach?

For interstate moves, we recommend booking four to six weeks out. That gives us time to secure permits, plan the route, and coordinate delivery windows. We’ve moved clients to Texas, Arizona, Washington, Colorado, and New York — among many others.

Can you move my vehicle or boat?

We don’t transport cars or boats directly, but we have trusted partners for auto transport and watercraft moving. Ask your coordinator for a referral — we only recommend companies we’ve vetted personally.

What happens to my plants?

Many interstate movers can’t take live plants due to agricultural restrictions. For local moves within Orange County, we can transport potted plants as long as they’re properly boxed and not too heavy. Check state regulations if you’re leaving California.

Do you offer discounts for seniors, students, or military?

Yes to all three. Students moving in or out of dorms get 10% off. Seniors (65+) receive 12% off. Active military and veterans get 15% off with valid ID. Just mention your status when you request a quote.

How do you handle trash or items I want to donate before moving?

We don’t haul junk or make donation runs ourselves, but we can recommend local services. If you leave unwanted furniture or boxes on moving day, we’ll set them aside in a designated spot so you don’t accidentally pack them.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 48 hours before your scheduled start time for a full refund of any deposit. Cancellations inside 48 hours may forfeit the deposit unless it’s due to illness, injury, or a property issue beyond your control.

Do you move commercial equipment for restaurants or offices?

Yes, and we’re experienced at it. Restaurant moves require careful handling of refrigerators, ovens, and dishwashers. Office moves involve server racks, filing cabinets, and cubicle disassembly. We assign commercial-trained crews for these jobs automatically.

Can I add extra stops on moving day?

You can, as long as the extra stop is along the planned route. Additional stops add time to the clock, but we don’t charge a separate “stop fee” — just the extra minutes it takes to load or unload at the second location.

How soon after moving can I leave a review?

As soon as you’re settled. Most customers leave feedback within a week. We send a follow-up email three days after your move with links to Google, Yelp, and Trustpilot. Honest reviews — good or bad — help us get better.
